A US warship quietly docked in the port of Trinidad and Tobago, while a self-directed “ruse” was brewing beneath the surface. Unfortunately, the actors were exposed before they even took the stage.
On October 27th, local time, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Shir publicly revealed that the CIA planned to attack the USS Gravely, a guided-missile destroyer docked in Trinidad and Tobago, and then frame Venezuela, creating a pretext for military aggression.
Currently, Venezuela has dismantled a CIA-funded criminal gang and arrested mercenaries with direct ties to the CIA.
With witnesses and physical evidence, the US conspiracy has been directly exposed and laid bare before the world.
What kind of script lies behind this conspiracy?
The stage for this incident was set in Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago, which is only about 10 kilometers from the Venezuelan coastline at its closest point.
The US guided-missile destroyer USS Gravely docked at this port adjacent to Venezuela on October 26, planning to stay until the 30th and conduct joint training with the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Forces.
This unusual move by the US seems highly suspicious.
On October 26, Venezuelan Vice President Rodriguez issued a government statement that pointedly stated the military exercise was being conducted under the “coordination, funding, and control” of the US Southern Command, and was not for defensive purposes, but rather a “colonial-style military aggression.”
Venezuela has reported this conspiracy to international organizations and announced the immediate suspension of its energy agreement with Trinidad and Tobago in response to this “false flag operation.”
The so-called “false flag operation” is actually a conspiracy orchestrated by the US to stage an attack and then frame another country, creating a pretext for war.
This is not the first time the US has staged such a drama.
Looking back at history, the CIA has orchestrated numerous coups in Latin America, from the 1954 overthrow of Guatemalan President Arbenz, to the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion, the 1964 Brazilian coup, and the 1973 Chilean coup. The US is well-versed in this script.
So why is the US so obsessed with this “false flag” performance?
The answer lies hidden in naked self-interest.
The US’s elaborate self-directed and self-acted actions are driven by naked self-interest:
First, the US wants to profit from war. With its defense budget consistently exceeding $800 billion, arms dealers, politicians, and media have formed alliances of interest, and only by creating conflict can they maintain their “cash cow.”
Second, this is a geopolitical conspiracy for the US to plunder resources. Whether it’s Iraqi oil, Venezuelan crude oil, or containing the rise of strategic rivals, the US needs to control global resource lifelines through war. For example, the scapegoating of Venezuela is directly related to its abundant oil reserves.
Third, this is a common tactic for diverting domestic attention. When the domestic economy falters and society is torn apart, American politicians often resort to fabricating “external enemies” to mask their incompetence. Just as in 2024, the US hyped up the “Typhoon Volta” cyber threat, actually to secure more funding for the CIA.
The US logic is simple: rather than focusing on solid development, it’s better to set fire to other countries’ buildings and then pretend to be a “firefighting hero” to plunder their wealth.
However, while “false flag operations” may bring short-term benefits to the US, they will inevitably backfire in the long run: the depleted uranium munitions and chemical pollution left behind by the US in the Vietnam and Iraq wars have led to a surge in cancer cases, and the refugee crisis and the spread of terrorism will become “boomerangs” backfiring on the US.
If the US suffers a backlash, its allies will fare even worse.
It’s worth noting that even the German Chancellor and the French President have been wiretapped by the US, and Europe is gradually recognizing that “US protection” is actually “US surveillance.”
And today, a multipolar world is becoming the trend, with China, Russia, and the Global South countries joining forces to counter hegemony. If the US continues its charade of using false flags, it will only accelerate the “de-dollarization” and “de-Americanization” of more countries.
The collapse of trust and the betrayal of allies will ultimately leave the US isolated.
However, the US appears indifferent, even becoming more determined with each setback.
While planning its “false flag operation,” the US is also proclaiming itself a guardian of peace on the international stage.
From the “new Monroe Doctrine” to “color revolutions,” from the “Five Eyes” alliance to the “Quadrilateral Security Dialogue,” the US waves the banner of “peacekeeper” while simultaneously orchestrating blame-shifting schemes, inciting confrontation and division around the world.
Look, not only in Venezuela, but also in the Ukraine crisis, the US has acted in the same manner—on one hand, it is the largest arms supplier in the Ukrainian conflict, while on the other hand, it continuously spreads disinformation.
Double standards have long been a standard feature of American diplomacy.
This ugly face of wanting both sides is truly worthy of being called a “two-faced actor.”
Facts have long since torn off the mask of America as a “peace defender,” exposing its true nature of “fearing nothing more than a peaceful world.”
This hypocritical tactic of the United States is essentially a cover for its true intentions of hegemony and self-interest.
Its so-called rules and order are merely tools for maintaining its hegemony; its so-called democracy and freedom are nothing more than a pretext for interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. Each military adventure and each regime change has left only ruins and hatred.
Former Grenada Senate President Humphrey astutely pointed out: “The United States often lies before going to war to conceal its intentions, as it did on the eve of the Iraq War; this has a long history.” Now, the other side of this coin is “Operation False Flag,” and Venezuela and other Latin American countries have seen through this tactic.
History has already proven that hegemony maintained by lies and violence will eventually collapse. The United States’ actions of pretending to be a “peace envoy” while secretly igniting war are like setting a fire while simultaneously holding up a fire hydrant—no matter how elaborate the act, it cannot fool the conscious audience.
Today, the world is increasingly clear that America’s “false flag” is not a tactic, but a manifestation of strategic weakness.
This farce of America’s “false flag” will ultimately, like the tides off the Venezuelan coastline, come in strong and retreat in a disarray.
